"Girls Volleyball: Mia Sokolowski and Tucson High's girls volleyball team could cap off a tough opening week by winning the TUSD Invitational, which begins Friday at Pueblo and wraps up Saturday afternoon.
First-year coach Amanda Larriva and Badgers open the season at Scottsdale Notre Dame on Tuesday and host Sabino two nights later. Notre Dame was a state semifinalist last year while the Sabercats finisshed 18-12. The 6-foot-4-inch Sokolowski is one of the top seniors in the state and has verbally committed to play at Florida. She amassed 541 kills in 2014 as the Badgers finished 28-13 and qualified for the state tournament." (8/31/2015) |

"2 Mia Sokolowski, Tucson, volleyball. The top volleyball prospect in Tucson in at least 10 years ended the suspense last winter when she chose Florida over Arizona and Texas. At 6 feet 4 inches, Sokolowski is coming off a junior season in which she had 541 of the Badgers' 1,074 kills.
